How to connect to the internet in Paris, France?

How to connect to the internet in Paris, France?
I'm going over to visit a relative for a few days in Paris, but she does not have any internet. I know here in the states you can buy laptop sticks in which you pay a subscription and can access the internet through that- is there anything similar in Paris? I have to be able to access my emails/work while I'm there, so it's vital that I be able to connect to the internet from her house. Any suggestions?

Answer 1 :
There are many internet cafes in Paris, which are your best bet, since public networks tend to be iffy, though some of the local libraries have them.
Answer 2 :
Most home wireless networks come already password protected from the provider, so it's hard to find open wifi networks, but now many bars and cafés will post a "Free WIFI" sign or "WIFI Gratuit". If you order a drink you can normally ask for the code to get on the internet and use it for as long as you like (within reason). Internet cafés are also common and can range from 0.50€/hour to 2€/hour
