Why black box/flight data recorder are not made to float?
In the Air France crash, they found bodies, briefcases and a laptop floating. Why can't they make the black boxes so they float? It should be easy to make with a chemical that slowly reacts with water and in 24 hours produce enough gas to make it float.

A black box is inside he plane. It cannot float out fo the plain. And to give it that ability would compromise the plane in flight. The only way this is possible to to eject the box right before impact. Then they can worry about making it float.

if this were to happen, then the possibility exists that they could float away from the crash sight and never be found. As it is now, they are equipped with a sonar device that "pings" similiar to that of a submarine. That is why they have subs out there right now "listening" with their sonar equipment trying to locate the exact position of the boxes.

Airliners do not stay intact after hitting water at high velocity. The boxes are free to leave the aircraft, and the beacon starts once it contacts water. If the boxes float they would have no problem reaching the surface since there is no remaining airplane in their way after a hard impact.

Because this hasn't been made a priority by those in charge. The technology exists to either have the boxes eject automatically during a crash or, as you stated, can be made to produce a chemical reaction that would enable them to float. It's nonsense to say that making this possible would compromise the safety of the plane during flight - it would if it was designed by an unqualified engineer. I would imagine that if they don't find the boxes for this plane, we'll see some changes made in flight data recorder design.

because humans are in fact deeply conservative: although we have the technology, we often are suspicious to allow a change in our lives and existing commodities. It is at least ironic to see many floating bodies but NO floating Black Box. In an era of GPS and Nano-technology transmitted in milli-seconds around the globe, it is a shame to see how ignorance and conservatism makes innocent victims. Humans learn, but slowly, and this will always be like this.

Bob accuses Kyle of stealing his laptop. Bob accuses Kyle for stealing his laptop. I have a feeling the second sentence sounds as though Bob knows Kyle stole his laptop but is just confronting him. I may be wrong though. English is not my native language but it kind of is. I came to the US from France when I was 5.

The first one is right. The second is just wrong. You accuse someone -of- something, not -for- something. But it was also wrong of Kyle to steal Bob's laptop!

Hello, I have registered in USA Corporation and physically I am in France, selling online laptops and memory sticks, I was wondering how to get American bank account and merchant account for Credit Cards processing.I would be happy with a bank account on my personal name or on the name of corporation . There are many merchant account providers offering US card processing services. You can Google "merchant account" or "credit card processing" or a similar term. For tips on what to look for in a processing proposal, click on the first link below. Once you select your provider you can go ahead with the application process. Generally the following documents will be required during a merchant account application process: 1. A merchant application - you will have to complete and sign this form. It includes general information about you and your business. 2. A copy of your organization's Articles of Incorporation, unless you are a sole proprietor. 3. A copy of a voided check for the account that you will want your money to be deposited into. 4. Business or personal financials. Your tax returns for the last two years may be requested if your business is new. Once all required paperwork is submitted, the set up of your merchant account should take no longer than two business days.

I bought a new laptop, and i started it and it asked me what country i was in continued.
Help!! I bought a new laptop, and i started it and it asked me what country i was in continued..?
i am in france, but i live in th US so i clicked france... but now every time i want to install a program.. like Picassa, clone dvd 2.. they install in french.. (i don't have a choise) help how do i change the settings so they install in english??

Sounds like a problem. What OS are you using first off? What version? If windows I think you can change that from the menu invoked by clicking the clock, though I haven't had to do that.

just go to the control panal and change the region or from france to us and enjoy your english

You can always change it again later. Reason it wants to know your country is for your clock, and the daylight savings time offset.
