I will travel on Continental to France in a few days

I will travel on Continental to France in a few days. Do they allow backpacks/messengers as carry on luggage?
I have searched Contiental's website and I did not find anything specific to carry ony luggage - back packs and messenger bags. I am traveling light and I am trying to avoid the delay of waiting for my bags. It is a standard sized Jansport back pack and a regular sized messenger bag/laptop size. Thanks!

Answer 1 :
Yes - you are allowed 1 carry on which would be your back pack and 1 personal item - which would be your messenger bag
Answer 2 :
You may want to call the Airline, but I am sure that you can take a backpack as carry-on luggage. Have a nice trip.
Answer 3 :
If you're not carrying a bomb, then its ok, they'll let you in.

Is an American iPod good for France?

Is an American iPod good for France?
I won a new black iPod Video 60GB. Because I won a 20GB iPod 2 years ago, and I just bought a new laptop, and I don't work right now, I prefer to sell it on eBay for $300. But then, I'm going soon to France in vacations and it sells 300 euros ($392) on eBay France. So I rather sell it on eBay France. The problem is that I don't know if an american iPod would be good for a frenchman. I didn't open the box, I keep it sealed (proof that it's new). On the box, I see that it includes: iPod, Earphones, USB 2.0 cable, and iTunes. But in my 20GB iPod box, it included also a power adapter and a Quick Start guide. So in that case, that would have been difficult to sell it in France because it's not the same outlet and the quick start guide was not in french. Do you think that there is no problem in selling my iPod Video 60GB in France? Even if I think it's ok from what I read on the box, I ask here so I'm sure. It's strange that Apple don't ship power adapter anymore! I think some people didn't understand my question. On the box of the 60GB video iPod, it doesn't say that it include a power adapter. So really, it's not included in the box? if yes, then the french user would have to buy one, as if he bought a french 60 GB iPod. People who have a 60GB iPod and who know what was in their box, should reply only.

Answer 1 :
Buy world power adapter from Apple store and you dont have to worry about power when it comes to your iPods.
Answer 2 :
it wont wrk in france ..they dun hav the same outletz n stuf like we do so yeah itz nawt gunna wrk in FrancE
Answer 3 :
An iPod charges when plugged into the computer, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Answer 4 :
Hummn there is no power adapter usually with an IPOD, so you don't really care about outlets... It charges with the USB connection anyway... I bought 2 Ipods in New York last year before coming back to France and they work flawlessly, of course. Go ahead, give it a try.

Answer 1 :
im pretty sure u can bring it as long as it goes through the scan it should be fine
Answer 2 :
Yes you can, carry on and no you only need to sign papers if you wanted it in checked luggage.
Answer 3 :
You always see people on planes with laptops! The only thing that may be of concern, is that you may need to stop using it during the flight if you're using wireless internet or anything like that. The attendants may ask you to put it away or stow it if there is a problem. Call British Airways and ask them. They'll be able to quell any major concerns.
Answer 4 :
Yes, you are allowed to bring it with you. :) On British Airways, you are allowed to bring one standard-sized bag and one laptop-sized bag, handbag or briefcase.
Answer 5 :
yes
Answer 6 :
Yes, absolutely - only about a million people a day fly with laptops around the world. And, you can use it on board if you want to, after the cabin crew says it is OK to turn on electronic devices. It is advisable to turn off any wireless capability if you can. But the crew does not go around with an antenna looking for devices that are broadcasting a signal.
