Do I need a laptop adapter in France?

Do I need a laptop adapter in France?
I am leaving for France for three weeks in two days. Do I need a laptop adapter? I will be in Brittany and Picardy if that matters. I have heard mix reviews on this subject. The program director told me that I do not need one and it only matters for hair straightener's, etc. Thanks! Also, by adapter I mean one that will work in the French outlets. Will my adapter work? Also, I need my plug for my laptop to work. If my plug falls out it dies because the battery is dead. I know the voltage is different but not sure on the subject.

Answer 1 :
you will not need a voltage adapter. but you will need a plug adapter and you can use your exissting laptop adapter with the plug adapter to make it fit into their outlets since they are different. to going to an electronics store and see if they have any. you can find them in airports usually at the travel shop but they will cost more over there. if you have a fry's electronics in your area go there and tell them you need a travel plug adapter. they are like $3 - $5. once again you do not need a voltage adapter. those are usually around $20 - $50.
