is there anyway to watch american tv in france?
I'm going away for a while we have our own apartment in the south of france and i was wondering if there was anyway i could watch so you think you can dance and the office and bones etc. so i was just wondering if there was a way to do it, i'm going to have my laptop but i would rather watch on the big tv and i dont want to have to wait like 2 weeks for the episodes to go online on fox.com

You can get cable channel where they will have American movies and tv shows, usually available in English (vm). The basic channels RARELY have English language movies on. Or if you have a dvd player with a usb port you can take a USB memory key, download on your laptop and watch on the tv. There are sites that usually put the shows online the next day (or two, with the time difference). My favorite is ch131.com.

You will not be able to see the same kind of regular American programmes that you usually watch in the USA on a big TV when they are being broadcast unless your appartment has cable or satellite network and the chains, of which there are only two, on which they are broadcast have a licence to use satellites/ cables. Also remember there are several hours difference between America and France and whilst one has access to other countries through satellites, the programmes one can get from having a satellite dish are mostly European or from Arab countries.

Nope. American shows like what you mentioned are not broadcast all over the world. You just have to wait or watch them when you can get them on streaming....

Hi, As far as I know, none of the big american TV channels (ABC, CBS, FOX) are broadcasted on popular french satelite TV bundle... The only US TV channels we have are news channels (CNN, ...) or sports (some UK channels broadcast some ESPN events live such as NFL, NHL,...) The only way for french people to follow popular US shows without having to wait one year is to illegaly download it... sad but true... PS : before viewing an episode on Fox.com, the website check that you are connected from the USA... so it will probably not work here...
