can i use a dual wattage converter for a laptop?
i'm going back to america for the holidays, and i want to bring my laptop along, but the plugs and sutff are different there, than here in France! i have a dual wattage converter that converts small things and big things small things - 50watts big things -1600 watts, like straighteners so can i use that for my laptop?

The current your laptop will require is between 110v and 230v then there is the 50~ or 60~ I have looked at all my power supplies for the laptops I run and they all have the current rating of 100 to 240 volt and are 50/60~ so they can work in just about any country you care to name. Look at your PSU and see what the current (in) is marked at if it is 100 to 240v 50/60~ then all you will require to get is a plug converter so that your plug on your PSU will fit the sockets in the country you are going to

Most laptops power packs range is 100 to 250 volt, 50 to 60 hz. You do not need a converter in the US since the power here is 120v 60 hz. The outlets have 2 parallel slots. You might need an adapter for the plug only.
