Will I be able to use my laptop work while visiting in France and England?
Will I be able to use my laptop work while visiting in France and England I should have mentioned this, I meant electrically. Will the laptop work with European power.

i think they will if you mean airplane. but some domestic flights dont. last time i visited they allowed me on the plan

Yes, they will work here. The power supply that comes with the computer should already accept either the North American 110V or the 220V common here in Europe. Look at the label. It should say something like 100 - 240 Vac, 50/60 Hz. for the inputs. This says it will work with either voltage. What you do need is the plug adapter that converts from the US plug standard (two flat prongs) to the European standard (two round prongs) or the UK standard. The one that works in France will also work in most of the rest of Europe (such as here in Italy). You need a separate one for the UK though. You can get the adapters at Target, Brookstones, luggage stores, airport shops, Radio Shack, ... they're widely available. I have several laptops purchased in the US that I use here. However, you should consider whether you really want to bring your laptop. If you're coming for work or moving here, it's necessary. If you're coming for a short vacation (especially if you're moving around a lot), there are public internet places widely available in Europe. Your laptop would be just extra weight and a target for theft.
